The big day arrived, and a few dozen friends traipsed over to the launch in the Forum cafe.
More than 100 copies were sold. Strange to be signing books for a lot of the evening; I have never been asked “could you make this out to so-and-so”. Unused to this, I was trying to make the signings personal – with relevant quips – but the queue lengthened and I soon had to make my comments briefer.
The speeches went well and everyone had a good time. Having large banners of some scenes of the book, complete with quotes, made the whole ‘do’ look very professional. Thank you to my publishers for that.
